Podcasting

A few questions have been asked about what equiptment and programs I use to produce my audio clips. Here is a short description. To find more articles and better information try a Google Search for podcasting.

Equiptment:
Dell Optiplex - Computer issued by my school district.
Generic Wireless Microphone - $10 +shipping

Software:
Audacity (Windows) - Audio Recording and Editing Software
- Lame MP3 Encoder - You will need this to save your files as MP3’s.
- Audacity 1.2 Tutorial - This will help you understand how to record and save files.

Storage:
gcast.com - A great site to store mp3’s and link to them. Free.
ourmedia.org - A good site to store any type of files. (It is kind of unreliable and hard to set up though).

Helpful Websites:
Learninghand.com - A great tutorial on listening and setting up podcasts.
CogDogBlog - ( Wiki ) A helpful website on how to set up Podcasts.

Since you left a comment on my blog, I had to come check out yours. Very cool math site - I’ll share it with the math teachers at my school.
I also love your podcasting page - I’m also the computer teacher at my school and I really want to get into podcasting and your resources are very helpful.
Thanks!
